Back on the road…
Why is it so difficult when you choose a lifestyle that is different from the "norm"? I am currently fighting my way through the jungle of bureaucracy to be able to officially live in my van. I need to get this sorted before I can get back on the road for more adventures.
Until then, let's continue the trip down memory lane.
I resumed my journey north. The weather was back to grey and rainy, but I did not mind, because great views, interesting roads, short walks and cosy breaks with hot tea and honey made it more than just tolerable. 😉
…and continued along the edges of the largest continental glacier in Europe, the Jostedalsbreen, with some short stops to admire two of its southern arms. But no photo or video can truly capture the scale, the sound and the feeling of cold when the wind blows down from those icy heights - like the breath and rumble of a frost giant from Niflheim.
When I reached the Nordfjord I turned east towards Oldevatnet, a long and beautiful lake with the most amazing turquoise colour due its glacial water, even on a grey day.
For the next day - and for the next day only - the weather forecast predicted sunshine and blue skies in the area. Looking across the lake towards the glacier, I decided to take that chance, find a place for the night and go for a long walk the next morning. I found a great campsite at the end of the valley below the glacier and booked in for two nights.
Now all I needed was the promised sunshine or at least no rain…
