The Journey – Chapter 2

Please press start if you would like to hear me read the story.

She opened her eyes.

How did she get here? Where was here?

She knew she had been looking for something important, something she could not remember because she had lost it a long time ago – a lifetime ago.

There was blackness all around. She was exhausted. Was this the end or was this her destination? So many questions. She tried to adjust her eyes to the darkness but still, nothing…

Time had become meaningless, place had become meaningless, her life had been meaningless.

She opened her eyes – again – and suddenly she saw or rather knew. There was a door. There was no door handle, no lock and it just would not open no matter how hard she tried. Finally she was too exhausted to continue and she lay down, falling asleep before she even touched the ground.

She was walking again, the sun was getting lower and she had reached a forest path at the side of a lake.

A leaf playing in the wind,
The golden key –
Turn of the Season.

It danced away in front of her…she started to run…she reached out…it settled gently on her outstretched hand.

She woke, the door opened and she stepped outside into the sunlight…tears of joy flowing down her face (like they do on mine now…).

I was at Connected 18 and heard your talk Isabel. It was truly inspirational and I have been following your work since. Love this new element to it; it will be fascinating to watch it develop. Love these two images as well.

Awww…thank you so much Michael. So you were one of those who heard my knees rattle ๐Ÿ˜‰
Being there and having an audience that was truly interested gave me so much more than you might imagine. It changed my perspective and I can only say THANK YOU!

Isabel. Your photographs throughout are simply gorgeous and so captivating. I especially love the trees from chapter one and your photograph of the dim light in the distance. Your writing is rich with much beautiful detail. You are deeply expressive in all of your workโ€”your photographs, your writing and your painting. They all have a commonality that reflects your heart and soul.

Awww…now you have me in tears. Thank you so much for your kindness and support, it really makes my heart sing.
