When I began thinking about starting my own blog the first question I asked myself was “Does the world need another blog about photography?” – the answer was simple…NO.
There are so many great blogs out there written by photographers about general techniques and gear or more specific about film photography that for me it did not make sense to start another one.
Okay, so that was it then…no blog for me…BYE…
…but I could not stop thinking about it.
Writing my own blog had always been something that I felt I needed and wanted to do. A few years ago my sister and I had actually started a blog together but we were both too busy with other things and I was still working as a manager in a major international company so it just vanished.
Still, the thought was there and I had learned how to set up a blog using WordPress.
So what made me change my mind? Very simple again, I found out that most of all I want to write this blog for myself. I want it as my “Memory” – no, I don’t mean diary but “Memory” because I want to also share it with whoever is interested. I am not looking for having “the most subscribers” (which is why there is no like button, just a comment box ;-)) or getting free gear to try, that is NOT what this blog is going to be about.
This might sound selfish now and in a way it is, but this blog is going to be about ME.
I will write about my thoughts and dreams (not only photography related), let you have a look behind the scenes when I go out with my camera, make books or experiment with new techniques. I want to share my personal journey with you as well as my pictures, poetry, stories and art. There might be a post about a specific vintage lens one day, a new picture & poem the next and my experience with a personality test another day. I might share my favourite books (photography or fantasy), websites and blogs with you. Everything that I also want to become a part of my Memory.
But enough of me…I really also want YOU to be a part of this if you like. I am very much looking forward to any comments, questions, ideas, etc. that you might have or want to discuss with me. Really!
My blog will be as intuitive as my art so you might want to subscribe to always be informed about new posts as there will not be a regular schedule. I know all the “master-bloggers” recommend to have a regular schedule but it is just not me – sorry! 😉
